Man arrested after armed police race to West Lothian town

A man has been arrested after police raced to the scene of a disturbance in West Lothian tonight.

Officers from Police Scotland were called to the scene of an incident at a property on Avon Drive in Linlithgow Bridge at around 6.30pm on Tuesday July 28.

A 25-year-old man has been cuffed in connection with the disturbance.

It is believed an armed response unit was sent to the scene. Sniffer dogs have also been spotted at the incident.

Officers confirmed nobody was injured, and that there is no risk to the wider public.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We can confirm that an 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a disturbance at a property at Avon Drive in Linlithgow.

"The incident was reported to police shortly before 6.30pm on Tuesday, 28 July.

"Nobody was injured. The incident was contained to within a single property and there was no wider risk to the public."
