Armed police race to Glasgow street over reports of 'man with gun'

Armed police raced to a Glasgow street over reports of man with a gun.

The alarm was raised last night at around 6.50pm when police received reports of a disturbance on Hillend Road in the Milton area of Glasgow.

Several police cars rushed to the scene only to find no evidence of firearms.

A 46-year-old man was arrested after being accused of wasting police time.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.50pm on Tuesday, 14 April, 2020 police received a report of a disturbance and a man in possession of a firearm at a property on Hillend Road, Glasgow.

"Officers attended and no firearms were discovered.

“A 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with wasting police time."
