ARMED police have locked down a busy street in Perth during a morning search operation at a property.
During a pre-planned operation, officers executed a search warrant at a property in South Methven Street, Perth, at 9.00am on Sunday.
Images shared online showed armed officers, who appeared to be in a stand-off, pointing their weapons at a window of a building.
A temporary road closure was in place between High Street and County Place as a precaution, with a number of police cars and vans parked along the street.
It is understood the road has reopened and police have said there was no risk to the wider community.
Police said enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “As part of a pre-planned operation, officers executed a search warrant at a property in South Methven Street, Perth around 9am on Sunday, 31 May, 2026.
“Armed officers were in attendance, and a temporary road closure was in place for a short period of time as a precaution.
“There was no risk to the wider community and enquiries remain ongoing.”
