Armed police in lengthy stand-off with man on Morriston street following 'domestic incident'

Armed police were called to a 'domestic incident' in Morriston in the early hours of the morning.

South Wales Police said the officers were sent to Clos Aaron on Saturday morning as a precaution.

Neighbours claimed a stand-off then ensued between police and a man.

A Clos Aaron resident said: “There was a stand-off lasting a couple of hours.

“It is really disappointing to have something like this happen here.

“We just do not want it.”

Two arrested on suspicion of murder after 50-year-old man dies in Ystalyfera

South Wales Police confirmed a man was arrested in connection with the incident.

A force spokesman said: “We were called at about 2.05am on July 13 to Clos Aaron, Morriston , to reports of a domestic incident.

“Armed officers were deployed to the scene as a precaution."

He said a 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and had since been released on police bail.
