Armed police in Hartcliffe after report of 'man with shotgun'

Armed police searched a Bristol park last night (November 2) - after reports of a man with a shotgun.

Police were called at just after 8pm after a reported sighting of a man in the Wilmott Park area of Hartcliffe carrying what was described as a shotgun.

A two hour search of the area was carried out, but no one identified.

A police spokesman said: “Firearms officers carried out a search in Hartcliffe on Monday night, 2 November, after a reported sighting of a man in the Wilmott Park area carrying what was described as a shotgun.

“The call came in at about 8.10pm and officers left the area just before 10pm.

“Officers spoke to the witness and searched the area with no trace of the suspicious man.”

In other news from Hartcliffe, police are investigating after a man was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his chest on Saturday (October 31).
