Armed police descended on a Wigan street earlier today following reports of a man with a firearm.
Officers were called to Severn Drive just after 11.20am this morning.
Video posted to social media appeared to show armed police and dogs at the scene.
Several officers could be seen holding a man to the ground.
The incident sparked a heavy police presence around Norley Hall Avenue.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said two men had been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm.
In a statement, the force said: “Police were called to Severn Drive, Wigan shortly after 11.20am today (Friday 28 February 2020) following a report that a man was in possession of a firearm.
“Officers attended and arrested two men aged 18 and 40 on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
