Armed police attended a scene in Fazakerley after a 'suspicious' car was spotted.
Police were called to the scene on Hursley Road at 4.15am on Thursday to reports of suspicious circumstances involving people inside the vehicle.
A witness reported that there were multiple police vehicles and armed police with their guns drawn this morning.
Pictures also show armed police surrounding a vehicle and carrying guns on Hursley Road, just off Long Lane.
Officers confirmed this morning they spoke to the owner of the vehicle and a nearby house but said there were no issues surrounding the incident.
Police stood down as a 'good intent call' and no action was required.
A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said: "We were called at 4.15am today to Hursley Road to reports of suspicious circumstances involving the occupants of a car.
"Officers attended and spoke to owner of vehicle and a nearby house and are satisfied that there are no issues and the incident was stood down as a good intent call - no action required."
