A street in the north of Glasgow has been locked down by armed police.
The area surrounding Firhill Street in the Maryhill area has been cordoned off since this afternoon.
An eyewitness told Glasgow Live: "There’s about 5 or 6 people in those full hazmat suits, protected by police. They were handling some object on the street.'
Residents are reporting that they have been told to stay in their homes.
Police Scotland would not comment on the nature of the incident, other than the fact that it is currently ongoing.
