Armed police descended on a Stockport suburb after a boy was seen with a 'gun'.
The police helicopter was also drafted in and reportedly circled the Offerton area for over an hour searching for the teenager.
Officers were called to Hempshaw Lane - near PureGym and Lidl - just after 3pm on Wednesday afternoon.
It's understood the boy had been riding a bike when he was spotted with something that looked like a firearm.

A spokesman for GMP said this is now believed to have been a BB gun.
Firearms officers attended the scene but there was no sign of the teenager.
A search was carried out and enquiries are still ongoing.
The spokesman said: "Shortly after 3pm police were called to reports of a teenager with what is now believed to be a BB gun on Hempshaw Lane in Offerton.

"Armed officers responded but the offender had fled prior to arrival.
"There were no reported injuries and enquiries are ongoing."
GMP added that the weapon was not fired or used to make threats.
