Armed Police called to reports of man with gun in Pontardawe

South Wales Police Firearms officers were called out on Saturday night to reports of a man carrying a gun in Pontardawe, Neath Port Talbot.

A team of armed police responded to the incident on Herbert Street, Pontardawe at 9.40pm and conducted a search in the vicinity.

Police haven't traced anyone carrying a firearm in the area and are still looking into the incident.

South Wales Police Neath Port Talbot tweeted: "We were called at 9.40pm following reports of a man with a gun in Herbert Street, Pontardawe.

"Firearms officers were swiftly on scene but despite extensive search no man with a gun was found."

"Enquiries are continuing to ascertain full circumstances behind report."
