One shocked onlooker told how officers carrying firearms approached the door of a property before shouting “armed police”.

It is understood that a specialist dog unit has been drafted in to help.

Video footage from the scene shows dozens of police motors arriving at the scene with a marked car blocking off the entrance to Commerce Road.
