Armed police called to house after gang storms in and steals iPhone

Armed police were deployed after reports a gang of men had stolen someone’s phone from inside their own home.

Cheshire Constabulary said officers were called to Holt Lane in Halton Village, Runcorn, at around 8.45pm on Friday evening.

A group of men is alleged to have burst inside and stolen a white iPhone.

The ECHO attended the area at around 9.45pm and saw a Cheshire and North Wales Armed Policing Alliance BMW X5 heading along neighbouring Main Street before it turned around in the Halton Royal British Legion pub car park.

A helicopter could also be seen and heard overhead.

In a statement issued on Monday, June 28, a constabulary spokesman said: “Police were called to reports that a group of unknown men had forced entry into the address and stolen a white iPhone.

“The victims were at home at the time of the incident.

“Local officers, supported by the Armed Policing Alliance, were dispatched to the address and conducted a search of the local area but were unable to find any trace of the suspects.

“Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and any information is asked to call Cheshire police on 101 quoting IML 1022259 or visit www.cheshire.police.uk/ro .”
