Armed police called to flats after knife alert

Armed police were called to a block of flats in Runcorn following reports a resident was armed with a knife.

Cheshire Police were called out to Camelot Way in Runcorn at around 8am this morning (Wednesday) following reports of a domestic incident.

Local officers were supported by a firearms unit following reports someone was armed with a knife.

A local man, 39, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray.

Police said another person involved suffered minor bruising but did not require hospital treatment.

A police spokesman said to the ECHO : "At 8am on Wednesday 24 November police were called to reports of a domestic at an address on Camelot Way, Runcorn.

"The caller reported that one of those involved was possibly armed with a bladed article.

"Local officers, supported by the Firearms Alliance, attended the scene and arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of affray.

"One person sustained minor bruising as a result of the incident, they did not require hospital treatment."
