Armed police called out to report of air rifle being fired from a moored boat

Armed police were called over a report of an air rifle being fired from a moored boat in Beeston.

Officers interviewed a man after being called to Canal Side shortly after 4.50pm on Thursday, March 5.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Police attended and are currently questioning a 59-year-old man in connection with the incident.

"Officers also seized two air weapons from a boat."

A police drone was deployed and the spokesman confirmed that armed police attended.

There were no reports of any injuries and there were no arrests.

Sergeant Usha Madaara, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this isolated incident, which we quickly responded to."

Anyone with information that may help the investigation is asked to call the force on 101, quoting incident 612 of March 5.
