Armed police have been sent to Bridgend after an assault in the town centre.
South Wales Police said they are investigating an assault reported shortly after 8.15am on Thursday.
A spokesman said officers are now searching "a number of properties" in connection with the incident.
Armed officers have also been sent to the scene. Police said this was as a "precaution" for the safety of officers and the public.
The Welsh Ambulance Service said one patient was treated at the scene on Market Street.
A spokeswoman said: "We were called today at approximately 8.17am to reports of a patient needing medical assistance on Market Street, Bridgend.
"We responded with one emergency ambulance and the patient was treated on scene.”
