Armed police were called to a Rumney street after a man was threatened with a machete.
Inquiries are ongoing after officers attended the scene on Manorbier Crescent in Cardiff at around 1.20pm on Monday.
Police said a man was threatened by another man in possession of a machete.
The area was "extensively searched" but the suspect was not found. No-one was hurt during the incident.
