Armed police were reported to be at an address in Runcorn early this morning.
Residents reported seeing armed officers at Caesars Close in the Castlefields area of the town at around 4.30am today.
One said: "It all started about 4.30am this morning. The armed officers were there, then about 10 to 10.30am the crime investigation team turned up, we're not sure what happened yet."

Pictures taken at the scene showed a large number of police vehicles present, along with crime scene investigators. A police spokesperson said: "Cheshire Constabulary executed a search warrant at a residential address in Runcorn at 4.45am this morning.
"Three persons were arrested at the location. Officers remain at the address."
