Armed police were called to two separate incidents in Swansea on Monday.
Officers received a report of an assault involving a knife at about 3.35pm in Walter Road, Mount Pleasant on February 8.
Armed police attended the scene but no victim or suspect was located. Further enquiries have established that this was not a knife assault, according to South Wales Police.
Police later received a call at around 9.30pm from a man claiming he had been "threatened with a knife" in Terrace Road.
However, this is not being connected to the earlier incident. A large presence including armed officers, was again reported in the area.
Pictures from the second incident show a number of police vehicles and a police dog.
One resident who witnessed officers at a property next to St Jude's Church on Terrace Road, said: "There were a load of police officers - they were knocking on the door, yelling “armed police”, then they used a battering ram to force open the door.
"The lights were on in the house, but I didn’t see anyone. A police dog was there too. The police were there for about an hour from about 10.20pm".

Another resident added: "There was a lot of police going round Mount Pleasant around 4pm.
"This afternoon there were at least two police vans and a squad car that I saw when I walked down to St Helen's and back. One kept driving past me, I'm sure they were looking for someone".
