Armed Gardai swarm Dublin premises as €5 million of drugs seized in massive sting on well-known crime group

Armed Gardai stormed a premises in south Dublin last night seizing a staggering €5 million worth of drugs in a huge sting on a well-known crime group.

Officers surged the Tallaght area discovering ecstasy and MDMA following the huge search on Friday night.

Gardai in the operation received information on Friday and obtained a search warrant immediately which was executed by Tallaght Gardaí and the District Drugs Unit.

In the massive intelligence-led search, Gardai found two large plastic barrels which contained 77kg of ecstasy tablets packed in bags and nearly 9kg of MDMA in blocks.

The total amount is believed to be worth €5 million with all drugs seized being analysed.

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "The scene is currently preserved for technical examination.

"No arrests have been made at this time and investigations are ongoing."
