A number of Garda units, including armed support and dog crews stormed across a number of premises in two Leinster counties this morning - with two cars recovered as well as freezing over €100,000 worth of cash.
The huge operation was part of a wider plan for Gardai as they targeted two Organised Crime Gangs actively involved in drug trafficking nationally.
Areas in both Dublin and Kildare were targeted in the sting operation.
Gardai also seized sterling and a number of documents.
The Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) conducted search operations in Co. Dublin and Kildare this morning.
They were assisted by officers from the GNDOCB, ERU, Eastern Region ASU, Eastern Region Detective Units and the Customs Dog Unit.
The search operation resulted in the seizure of the following items:
- 191 Mercedes car
- 211 Skoda Kodiaq
- €6,300 in cash
- £3,385 in sterling
- €110,000 restrained in a number of bank accounts
- Documentation in relation to the acquisition of a number of properties.
