Armed gardai have recovered a number of guns in searches in north Dublin.
The operation is ongoing but it is believed that at least three guns were seized by officers.
It is understood that gardai are targeting an organised crime gang involved in the drug trade in the general North Dublin suburb of Dunsink, Finglas.
A large number of gardai are at the scene including specialist armed units such as the ERU and ASU.
Gardai said they are unable to comment as it is an ongoing operation but will reveal details later.

The Finglas area is gripped in a gangland feud and is led by a gangster dubbed 'Mr Flashy' due to his interest in luxury clothes and bling - often sporting a man bag.
The group's leader is linked to the Kinahan Organised Crime Group and is involved in a violent feud of his own in the general Finglas area.
He is target number one for a gang linked to dead gangster Glen 'Glyn' O'Toole.
There is also a dispute in the general Blanchardstown area involving the Finglas based criminal gang.

A recent shooting in Blanchardstown is linked to the incident and there have been other serious shootings linked to the feud.
Shane Fowler, a pal of O'Toole, was on his way to murder Flashy last May when he lost control of his motorbike and slammed into a pole.
He was carrying a handgun at the time, and as paramedics fought to save his life, a young boy appeared and grabbed the gun.
O'Toole killed himself in prison after he was lifted by gardai moments before he was set to carry out a hit on the Finglas gangster.
