An overnight police guard remains in place after officers were called to an incident at a house in Fife.
Local residents reported seeing a heavy police presence surround a property in Thane Place, Dunfermline, at around 7.30pm on Wednesday.
A source said that specialist firearms officers were also called to the scene before a man was led away from the property in handcuffs.
Two marked police vehicles remained in the street on Thursday morning but the nature of the incident remains unclear.
Police Scotland were contacted for comment.
