Armed cops swoop on 'disturbance' in street in Elgin

Armed police have swooped on a street in Elgin amid reports of a 'disturbance'.

Cops were called to the incident at Findhorn Court around 6.30pm on Wednesday April 22.

Firearms officers have surrounded an area in a residential street.

A large cordon has been set up around a property.

The nature of the 'disturbance' is currently unknown.

The public have been asked to keep clear of the area.

Officers remain at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called to the Findhorn Court area of Elgin around 6.30pm on 22 April following a report of a disturbance and officers remain in attendance.

"The public are asked to avoid the area as officers work to bring this to a safe conclusion."
