Armed cops swarmed a Scots shop after a 'machete' was wielded amid a robbery in Edinburgh.
Police raced to reports of a robbery at the store on Gracemount Drive at around 2.55pm on Sunday, January 9.
It's understood a 'machete' was used in the brazen daytime robbery.
The incident sparked a major emergency response as armed cops were called in to assist officers.
No one was injured in the robbery.
Police have now launched an investigation and say enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 2.55pm on Sunday 9 January, to a report of a robbery at a premises in Gracemount Drive, Edinburgh.
“Officers, including firearms officers, attended. No one was injured and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
