Chicago police are warning residents about a pair of armed carjackings last weekend in West Chesterfield on the South Side.
In each incident, the victims were sitting in their cars when they were approached by two armed males who demanded their keys and told them to get out, according to a community alert from Chicago police.
Both carjackings happened Jan. 4, police said. The first was about 1 a.m. in the 9200 block of South Michigan Avenue and the second about 5 p.m. in the 9200 block of South Indiana Avenue, police said.
One of the men believed to be involved was described as being between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 and between 160 and 180 pounds, with a medium-brown complexion and scars on his face, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Area South detectives at 312-747-8273.
