Blurton arrested after three-day manhunt

Tactical Response Group officers forced their way into the house where Mr Blurton was staying.

A search for a man allegedly linked to crimes including threats to kill and possession of a firearm has ended with Tactical Response Group officers forcing their way into a house in Perth's southern suburbs and arresting him.

Malcolm Stirling Blurton, 30, was arrested around 1:15am this morning at a property on Caribbean Approach in Canning Vale, after officers entered the house and negotiated with him for "a period of time".

There was no-one else inside the house at the time of the arrest, but police allege Mr Blurton was in possession of a shotgun and ammunition.

He has been charged with a string of offences allegedly committed between April and May this year in Ballajura, Gosnells, Mount Nasura, Kelmscott and Canning Vale.

The charges include aggravated armed robbery, going armed to cause fear, acts intending to cause grievous bodily harm, threats to kill, attempting to unlawfully kill, possessing an unlicensed firearm, deprivation of liberty and breach of bail.

Mr Blurton appeared in Armadale Magistrates Court later today and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear again in court on June 6.
