There is not long left before the end of the transfer window and Everton look set to add to their squad ahead of the deadline.
The ECHO understands Idrissa Gueye is edging closer to a return to the club, meanwhile the Blues are continuing to be linked with a whole host of other names.
Frank Lampard has already completed permanent deals for Amadou Onana, Dwight McNeil and James Tarkowski, with Conor Coady and Ruben Vinagre also arriving at Goodison Park on loan.

As speculation continues over potential arrivals, we have taken a look at the individuals being backed to make a move to the club in the next fortnight.
Ben Brereton Diaz - 5/2
Ben Brereton Diaz's rise within professional football has been rather remarkable - and could further continue this summer courtesy of a jump to the top-flight.
Blackburn Rovers will not want to lose their star striker, though will begin to come under pressure as clubs continue to circle for the talented forward. Everton are seen as the most plausible next option in the career of Brereton Diaz, ahead of sides such as Nice, Bournemouth and Brighton.
Ismaila Sarr - 7/2
A player who has past experience of operating at Premier League level. Ismaila Sarr has completed two top-flight campaigns with Watford, though suffered relegation on both occasions. The Senegalese forward has shown enough quality during these spells to suggest he deserves to remain in England's highest division and could be tempted to move if an offer arrives.
Crystal Palace is currently considered his most likely destination at offs of 4/6, though the Blues are regarded as the next most likely side to secure the services of Sarr.
Armando Broja - 4/5
The Chelsea forward will be eager for first-team opportunities this season after making a positive impression while on loan at Southampton last term. Unlikely to receive this at Chelsea, a permanent exit is a solution that would likely make sense for both parties.
Everton are currently regarded as the club in the driving seat to sign Broja, who could potentially become involved as makeweight should Chelsea continue their pursuit of Anthony Gordon.
Ross Barkley - 7/4
Ross Barkley returning to Everton would certainly qualify as a controversial transfer move. The 28-year-old began his career with the Blues, though left the club in 2018 to join Chelsea. Regular first-team opportunities have proven hard to come by at Stamford Bridge and are unlikely to improve anytime soon.
The ECHO understands the Blues' reported interest is simply speculation at this moment in time, despite being viewed as the frontrunners for his signature according to latest odds.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka - 7/1
With Nathan Patterson impressing in the Toffees' opening two league games of the season, it's understandable why Aaron Wan-Bissaka is viewed as something of a longshot in the transfer market. Manchester United are said to be happy to offload the right-back and his former employers Crystal Palace are deemed clear favourites to bring the defender back to the capital.
Conor Gallagher - 9/1
Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, like Broja, could find himself potentially involved in a deal to bring Gordon to Stamford Bridge, heading in the opposite direction.
The 22-year-old caught the eye on loan at Crystal Palace last year but has struggled to break into the Londoners' starting midfield two upon his return.
Aston Villa Crystal Palace, Newcastle and West Ham are all considered ahead of Everton in the race to sign Gallagher.
