Armand Gnanduillet joins Hearts as Robbie Neilson pulls plug on Elijah Adebayo move

Hearts have completed the signing of French striker Armand Gnanduillet on a free transfer.

The former Blackpool frontman arrived in Edinburgh earlier today and has joined the club to add depth to the attack on an 18-month deal.

The giant striker is a free agent after leaving Turkish club Altay and had a successful spell in England with Blackpool.

Now that the deal is confirmed, he could even make his debut against Raith Rovers on Tuesday night as the Tynecastle side look to get back to winning ways.

But the move to sign Gnanduillet means the bid to sign Walsall frontman Elijah Adebayo is off the table and they won't be bringing him to Edinburgh.

Adebayo had reportedly agreed personal terms and was willing to move but Walsall weren't willing to sell and Hearts wanted a deal done now instead of waiting until the summer.

That forced them to turn their attention towards Gnanduillet with Robbie Neilson desperate to get another striker in the door to support Liam Boyce.

The 28-year-old started his career in France with Le Havre before joining AS Poissy.

He then moved to England and had spells with Chesterfeild, Tranmere, Oxford, Leyton orient and Blackpool before heading to Turkey.
