Armagh school could get a new mobile classroom

An Armagh primary school could be about to get a new mobile classroom.

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s planners are considering an application seeking to replace the mobile units at St Michael’s Primary School on the Cladymore Road.

Lodged by the Education Authority on behalf of applicant, the Very Rev G Carvill, the application seeks permission to remove the existing mobile classroom and replace it with a prefabricated building with toilets and a store.

Permission is also sought to develop a four-space parking lay-by at the site.

According to the application form, the new modular building will have permanent concrete foundations and surface water at the site will be disposed of via the existing mains storm drainage and foul sewage will be disposed off via the mains.

The development is not expected to increase the amount of traffic or people attending the site on a daily basis.

Received on Wednesday, October 20, the application was validated on Monday, November 22 and the neighbour consultation period expired on Monday, December 13.

The application’s standard consultation period will expire on Monday, December 20 and the advertisement will run until Friday, December 24.
