Armagh manufacturing company creates 16 new jobs to help grow its export business

An Armagh manufacturing company has created 16 new jobs to help it grow its export business.

AW Control Systems said the expansion is part of a £520,000 investment in a new building, equipment and doubling of its production space.

The new roles include electrical design engineers, panel builders, electricians and office support staff and recruitment is currently underway.

It designs, manufacturers and installs automated control systems and is already recruiting for electrical design engineers, panel builders, electricians and office support staff.

Andrew Willis, Managing Director, AW Control Systems Ltd said demand for the company’s products is increasing.

He added: “This investment ensures we are adequately resourced with additional space, manpower and equipment to meet our customer’s needs and further expand our customer base.

“We currently have contracts in Northern Ireland, the Republic, GB, USA, Australia and Asia and are aiming to build on the existing strength of the business to further expand our customer base here. We are also hoping to capitalise on growth opportunities in new markets.”

Invest NI offered the company £128,000 towards the new jobs.

Bill Montgomery, Invest NI’s Director of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, said the jobs will create £400,000 in additional annual salaries for the local economy.

He added: “This expansion is an exciting milestone for AW Control Systems Ltd, enabling the business to fulfil its growth potential.

“It is encouraging to see the company reinvest in the Armagh area and create valuable employment opportunities.”
