Armagh Camogie investigating dressing room chants following All-Ireland win

Armagh Camogie have launched an investigation amid claims that IRA chants were heard in a video of players celebrating their All-Ireland win.

Clips shared on social media showed Armagh players celebrating in the dressing room following victory over Cavan in the All-Ireland Premier Junior Championship final last Saturday.

DUP MLA Jonathan Buckley slammed the incident as 'inexcusable' when speaking to the BBC.

But others have defended the players on social media, claiming the chants were misheard and that they were shouting, 'Ooh, ah, up Armagh' rather than the pro-IRA 'up the RA' slogan.

An Armagh Camogie statement read: "An issue has arisen following our game on Saturday.

"Armagh county camogie board have met this evening and agreed we will be carrying out a full investigation in regards to this matter.

"We will be making no further comment at this time."
