Armadale residents on alert after a number of houses broken into on several different streets

Armadale residents are being asked to remain vigilant after a number of houses were broken into across the town at the weekend.

Properties on Macafee Gardens, Kerr's Way and several other surrounding streets were targeted in the early hours of Saturday (11 April) – some time between 12am and 7am.

Items were stolen from within the homes, and police have issued a description of a male suspect they are looking to trace in connection. He is described as being white and wearing a blue hooded top, blue jogging bottoms, black trainers and a blue hat.

Officers want anyone who thinks they've seen him to come forward.

Constable Dale Heatlie of Bathgate Police Station said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area overnight or in the early hours of Saturday to get in touch with police.

"We would also ask that if anyone has any CCTV footage or dash cam footage from the area to contact us, as they may have information that will assist our investigation.”

He added: "We would like to remind residents in the area to remain vigilant and ensure that houses, outbuildings and motor vehicles are kept secure."

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 0822 of 11 April.
