The Colorado State Rams have come back strong after a blowout loss to Duke. The Rams beat Omaha 80-65 and had a nice 75-65 road win over Loyola Marymount. Nico Carvacho had a nice game against Omaha, going for 21 points, 19 rebounds, and five assists. Isaiah Stevens got the spotlight against LMU, going for 21 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
The Arkansas State Red Wolves come to Fort Collins riding a three game win streak. Since a 28 point loss to Ole Miss, the Red Wolves beat VMI, UC Davis, and Idaho by an average margin of 14 points. Canberk Kus leads Arkansas State in scoring at 14.6 ppg. The Red Wolves leading rebounder is Malik Brevard at 8.6 rpg.
The CSU Rams are going to have a length disadvantage in the majority of their matchups this season. However they should matchup well against the Red Wolves, with Kus being the only guard above 6’2″ that sees regular playing time for Arkansas State.
The Rams can’t take anyone for granted, especially with such a young team. They will need to compete like every game is the last one they will play this season. If Carvacho can be his double-double machine self and the freshman continue their growth, the Rams are going to be dangerous.
