Arjitha sevas at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams to resume after more than 2 years

TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams will resume arjitha sevas at the hill temple from April 1. Arjitha sevas were suspended at the Tirumala temple from March 20, 2020, with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Though darshan at the Tirumala temple resumed partially in June 2020, arjitha sevas were not revived due to Covid-19 guidelines. The temple body announced that tickets of Suprabatham, Thomala, Archana, Astadala Padapadmaradhana seva and Nijapada seva for April will be released through an online lucky dip system for booking from 10 am on March 20 till 10 am on March 22.

Devotees can book other arjitha sevas such as the Kalyanotsavam, arjitha Brahmotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara seva, etc through online on a first come, first serve basis. A Covid-19 negative certificate will be mandatory for all devotees visiting the Tirumala temple.

Meanwhile, TTD’s additional executive officer AV Dharma Reddy told reporters that there has been an overwhelming response from donor devotees who booked 130 Udayasthamana seva tickets by extending donations of `1 crore and `1.5 crore to the TTD.

After inspecting the cashew processing godown in Tirupati on Friday, the additional EO appealed to Srivari sevaks to serve devotees with devotion. Later in the day, TTD executive officer KS Jawahar Reddy released Shubhakruth Telugu panchangam at Sri Padmavathi guest house.
