Arjan Bajwa on social media trolls: If they come to the forefront, they will certainly get punched in the face

Arjan Bajwa is undoubtedly one of the fittest actors in Bollywood. In an exclusive chat with ETimes, the actor spilled the beans on the importance of being fit, tackling social media trolls, and more. Excerpts…

You are one of the fittest actors we have in Bollywood. Is there anyone in the industry whom you look up to in terms of fitness?

Fitness has always been my priority. It was an initiation by my father who himself was an athlete during his college days. Having looked and learned from him, fitness has always been a part of my life. I try to maintain it on an everyday basis. If you don’t feel fit physically, you will not feel fit mentally also, and vice versa. If you are fit physically, it boosts your confidence. Our field is all about appearances. It is an important aspect of being an actor. You cannot turn away from it at any given point. You have to be in really good shape. Bollywood has so many people who are fit and in great shape--John Abraham, Tiger Shroff, and my friend, Sonu Sood--are all super-fit.

How do you deal with negativity and trolls on social media?

People who spread negativity and troll others on social media are sick and are suffering in their minds and lives. Otherwise, there is no need to abuse or say negative things about someone you don’t even know. I ignore them most of the time. I actually don’t get negative or trolling messages as such. I am lucky enough to have people who shower me with love and blessings. They appreciate what I do and that is very sweet of everyone. However, once in a while, I do come across someone who has nasty things to say. Social media has given these people the power to say things, hiding behind a computer screen. If they come to the forefront, they would certainly get punched in the face by everyone. All I want to say to such people is, ‘Get well soon’.

Do you have friends from within the industry who you are close to and love to hang out with?

I do have a lot of friends from the industry to whom I am close. Everybody is busy with their work. However, when we meet each other socially, we have a great time. We share a great camaraderie, love, and respect for each other.
