Arizona State’s Josh Christopher discusses Kobe Bryant, LeBron James being his favorite Lakers’ players

The Los Angeles Lakers have the No. 22 overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft and have worked out various prospects who would make sense at that pick.

One such option is Josh Christopher from Arizona State, who is projected to go late in the first round or in the second round.

The 6-foot-5 guard played one season at ASU and averaged 14.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 1.4 assists and 29.7 minutes per game. He shot 43.2%  overall on 11.7 attempts and 30.5% from the perimeter on 3.9 attempts.

Christopher’s shotmaking is one of his best traits, which is the type of player the Lakers could use alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, though his playmaking for teammates must improve at the next level.

The Lakers conducted a workout with Christopher on Friday, showing possible interest in him at No. 22.

During his press conference after the workout, Christopher discussed his favorite players to don the purple and gold, via Ryan Ward of Lakers Nation:

Christopher also showed his tattoo about Bryant:

If Los Angeles takes Christopher, he’d have the opportunity to play alongside James, though it’s uncertain if the Lakers would select him depending on other prospects on the board at that time.

The NBA draft is July 29.
