Arizona Diamondbacks’ Tim Locastro can’t stop getting hit by pitches

Tim Locastro earned a call up from Arizona on Friday, and in his first appearance since May 6th, Locastro tied an MLB record by racking up three hit by pitches. Three different Giants pitchers plunked Locastro as the Diamondbacks blew out San Francisco in an 18-2 rout – and Locastro raised his HBP total on the season to seven in just 13 games played.

Ron Hunt holds the single-season record for HBP with 50, but at Locastro’s current pace of .53 HBP per game, he could smash that record this season if he plays around 100 games.

The record-tying performance was Locastro’s second game with three HBPs in last two weeks.
