Ariana Greenblatt To Be Honored At Cinemacon Big Screen Awards

Ariana Greenblatt to receive rising star of the year trophy at CinemaCon.

CinemaCon has recently announced the addition of actress Ariana Greenblatt to the list of honorees for its Big Screen Achievement Awards. Greenblatt is set to receive the rising star of the year trophy at a ceremony taking place at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on April 11. This recognition comes on the heels of her notable performance in Greta Gerwig's hit film, Barbie, and precedes her upcoming role in Eli Roth's Borderlands alongside a star-studded cast.

Greenblatt, who began her acting career at the age of 6, has already built an impressive resume with appearances in major films such as Avengers: Infinity War, The One and Only Ivan, In the Heights, and the highest-grossing film of 2023, Barbie. CinemaCon's managing director, Neuhauser, expressed high praise for Greenblatt's talent, noting that her star is undoubtedly on the rise.

Borderlands, the highly anticipated Lionsgate adaptation of the popular video game, is scheduled for release on August 9, 2024. The film features Cate Blanchett in the lead role as the renowned bounty hunter, Lilith, who embarks on a mission to find a missing individual on her home planet, Pandora. Greenblatt portrays the character Tiny Tina, joining a diverse team of characters in this action-packed adventure.

In addition to Greenblatt, CinemaCon will also honor other industry luminaries at the Big Screen Achievement Awards ceremony. Amy Poehler will receive the vanguard award, Lupita Nyong’o will be recognized as star of the year, Shawn Levy as director of the year, Joseph Quinn as breakthrough performer of the year, and Dan Stevens with the excellence in acting award.

CinemaCon, a premier event for the motion picture industry, will take place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from April 8-11. With over 6,000 professionals from various sectors of the industry in attendance, the event serves as a platform for networking and showcasing the latest innovations in cinema technology. The International Cinema Technology Association (ICTA) and National Association of Concessionaires (NAC) are among the trade show partners, with Coca-Cola serving as the official presenting sponsor.
