Ariana Grande teases Thank U, Next video with nostalgic nod to Mean Girls

Ariana Grande has teased the video for hit single thank u, next with a Mean Girls themed clip featuring some well-known faces.

The 47-second teaser parodies the famous cult film, starring Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams, with people idolising Grande as a Regina George-type figure.

The video features actual Mean Girls’ stars including Jonathan Bennett – who played Aaron Samuels – telling us that Grande told him “his hair looks sexy pushed back” as well as Bethany Byrd and Stefanie Drummond.

Drummond, who was “punched in the face by Regina” in the film, says: “Ariana broke off an engagement, so I found a guy to propose to me and broke off an engagement.”

Troye Sivan also appears in the teaser clip for the highly-anticipated video, which Grande says is “coming soon”.

YouTuber Colleen Ballinger, a.k.a Miranda Sings, says that she “heard a rumour Grande was pregnant” so decided to get pregnant herself, before the screen cuts to her massive baby bump.

The video for the single, which is on course for its fourth week at the top of the UK chart, will pay homage to iconic films from the 2000s.

Grande has also treated fans to pictures of herself dressed as Regina George, quoting a famous line from the film, along with other recreations of films including Bring It On and Legally Blonde.

Most recently, Grande dropped the video for her song Breathin which touches on her struggles with mental health .

Grande is pictured in a black dress sitting deep in thought while other shots show her stuck in the clouds as she swings across a murky sky.

Grande also struggles to stay in one moment during crowded scenes in the video, instead having her “head in the clouds”.
