Ariana Grande sends message to fans after decision to step away from public spotlight

  • Ariana Grande confirmed her decision to take a break from public life after her current tour, stating it was a planned choice made "a long time ago" rather than a “reactive or impulsive” one.
  • Speaking from a prepared note during her Chicago concert on Monday, the singer addressed the ongoing discourse around her health and body , emphasising that external noises would not “distort her reality”.
  • Her representative clarified that Grande will step back from "visibility" after her Eternal Sunshine tour concludes on 1 September, seeking a "much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances" due to "endless, ongoing public scrutiny".
  • This hiatus means Grande will no longer appear in the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George next summer, nor is she expected to promote the upcoming comedy sequel Focker-In-Law.
  • The announcement follows renewed public comments on her body and health after the release of her eighth studio album, Petal, and previous instances where she urged fans to refrain from commenting on people's appearance.
