Ariana Grande seen on CCTV in Irish hardware shop buying a pinata

Pop star Ariana Grande was spotted buying a pinata in an Irish hardware shop last night before "running out the door" when fans showed up.

The American star - known for hits like 'Thank you, next' and 'Dangerous woman' - was in Feighery's Expert Hardware Store in Crumlin, Dublin, on Tuesday to buy a pinata from the shop.

Alan Feighery, manager of the hardware shop, first noticed "a bit of commotion" near the party section of the shop around closing time, Dublin Live reports.

Alan told the Irish Mirror: "To be honest, there weren't many people in the store at the time.

"The floor was kind of closing up. It was 6pm and I was actually there with a customer at the time.

"I just noticed a bit of a commotion, just a bit. A few more bodies around in the party section of the shop.

"And I turned to the right and I noticed somebody in a white fur jacket which is kind of unusual for here."

Feighery said there was a slight accent barrier at the till as one of Grande's entourage paid for the pinata.

He continued: "An American lady came up to me, an elderly lady, and she was asking for the price or something, and I said, 'For the pinata? €17.99.' and she says, '$70??'

"I said, 'No, $18'. She had a wad of 50s in her hand and she just paid for that.

"And by that stage there had been a couple of people that had been outside, and they come in, and I think she (Ariana) wasn't having any of that, so she just went running out the door herself."

The shop has been put on the map for Ariana Grande fans as Alan said he's already had visitors coming in to ask about the star's visit.

He said: "We've already had a few people in this morning asking, 'When did she come into the store, what did she buy, etc.'"

Alan's daughters, who are massive fans, were disappointed they missed out on meeting their favourite singer.

He added: "I've three girls myself. Two of my girls were at her concert on Sunday. They were incredulous.

"They were just, 'No, dad, no way!'. My eldest is 24, and she's watched the video 100 times.

"They (My daughters) work here the odd times, and they were very disappointed they weren't here yesterday evening."
