The reason why Ariana Grande cancelled two concerts has been revealed after she was taken unexpectedly ill at short notice.
It turns out that the 25-year-old pop star has a tomato allergy and this was the cause of her having to scrap shows in Florida this week, with Orlando and Tampa having to miss out.
The chart-topping singer has revealed that the tomato allergy caused her throat to swell up and she was left feeling like she was "swallowing a cactus."
Addressing the cancellations on her Instagram account, Ariana shared with her followers: "Update: we discovered ..... that ..... i had an unfortunate allergic reaction to tomatoes and my throat pretty much closed.
"Still feels like i'm swallowing a cactus but slowly making progress! thank u all for your love and understanding. can't wait to get back to performing and to make it up to Tampa and Orlando in November."
Ariana added that this was the first time that she had discovered that she was allergic to the salad fruit.
She continued: "p.s. there is NOTHING MORE UNFAIR THAN AN ITALIAN WOMAN DEVELOPING AN ALLERGY TO TOMATOES IN HER MID TWENTIES......."
Ariana was looking forward to a homecoming to the state where she was born and the singer has revealed that any tickets bought for the cancelled shows will be valid for when she returns to the sunshine state in November.
The singer is currently on her Sweetener World Tour, and is set to perform in the UK and Ireland later this year, with dates in London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Sheffield and Dublin planned.
She will headline Manchester Pride in August, returning to the city more than two years after a suicide bomber killed 22 people at her concert in May 2017.
