Ariana Grande has responded to a viral video reminding people that long sleeves may hinder the ability to effectively wash your hands.

As fears over the spread of coronavirus continue, Paper Magazine used an Instagram video to poke fun at the singer over her affinity for clothing with overlong sleeves.

In the video, which reads: "Ariana Grande washing her hands,” a person wearing a sweatshirt attempts to wash their hands but only manages to get the sleeves wet.

The outlet captioned the video, which first went viral in 2019: “Using this iconic video as a friendly reminder to wash! your! f***ing! hands!”

Although Grande is not actually the one in the video, she responded in the comments, writing: “Hate you all.”

The meme about the difficulties the 7 Rings singer’s oversized clothing pose first began circulating on TikTok in 2019 when a user uploaded a video in which they used their sleeve-covered hands to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich

At the time, Grande responded: “Man if y’all don’t leave me alone. This makes me so anxious,” according to screenshots captured by InStyle.

The theme “Ariana Grande’s Sleeves” has since been recreated in many other videos uploaded to the platform.

Paper Magazine shared the latest rendition of the meme as federal health organisations continue to urge people to thoroughly wash their hands to curb the spread of germs and to protect themselves against coronavirus.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), people should wash their hands “often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing”.
