Ariana Grande has apologised for “offending” people with her new song 7 Rings.
The Breathin’ singer sparked a backlash after she shared an Instagram post which referred to the lyric: “You like my hair? Gee thanks, just bought it.”
The post said that “white women talking about their weaves is how we’re gonna solve racism.”
Grande responded to the fan adding that she has “so much love” for them.
The 25-year-old then deleted the post before responding to a screenshot that had been shared on Instagram.
She wrote: “Hi hi. I think her intention was to be like... yay a white person disassociating the negative stereotype that is paired with the word 'weave'... however I'm so sorry if my response was out of pocket or if it came across the wrong way.
“Thanks for opening the conversation and like... to everyone for talking to me about it. It's never my intention to offend anybody.”

The backlash comes after Grande was met with outrage from Soulja Boy who accused her of stealing his “flow” from 2010 track Pretty Boy Swag.
Princess Nokia also hit out at the star in a since deleted Instagram video accusing her of copying her song Mine.
In the video, she said: “Ain't that the little song I made about brown women and their hair? Hmm. Sounds about white.”
Standard Online has contacted representatives of Grande, Soulja Boy and Princess Nokia for comment.
According to the Official Charts Company, the song is over 24,000 chart sales ahead of second place Sweet But Psycho by Ava Max.
She last year hit the top spot with Thank U, Next, which featured Kris Jenner in the throwback music video.
