New Music Friday is usually when music fans can expect new tunes, but Ari Lennox is not wasting any time. The Dreamville artist Ari Lennox, who is under J. Cole’s label, unveiled the fresh single, “Up Late,” featuring Masego on saxophone via Twitter.

The new song is in anticipation of her debut album, Shea Butter Baby, which she also announced will be arriving on May 7. The record includes 12 tracks and features J. Cole on both “Whipped Cream” and “Shea Butter Baby.” Other fellow labelmate J.I.D. is also on board for the track “Broke.”

The track list for the album is as follows:

Chicago Boy

BMO

Broke featuring J.I.D.

Up Late

Shea Butter Baby featuring J. Cole

Speak to Me

New Apartment

Facetime

Pop

I Been

Whipped Cream featuring J. Cole

Static

Lennox is headed on tour in May, launching the epic trek in Phoenix, Arizona and stopping in cities Los Angeles, New Orleans, Atlanta, Toronto, New York City and concluding in Charlotte, North Carolina (J. Cole’s native state). Baby Rose, Mikhala Jene and Ron Gilmore will be joining the songstress as opening acts on the Shea Butter Baby Tour.

The R&B soul singer gained traction after she released the song “Shea Butter Baby,” which is off of the Creed II soundtrack. She previously appeared on J. Cole’s track, “Change” and even hit the road with the North Carolina rapper for his 4 Your Eyez Only Tour.
