Argyle Street stabbing: police say 'no threat to the public'

The ongoing incident on Argyle Street is not a threat to the public.

Police raced to the scene around 12.10pm on Sunday afternoon after a man was stabbed.

Investigators believe the attack was targeted and that there's no threat to the public.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We were called around 12.10pm on Sunday, 28 June, to a report of an assault in Argyle Street, Glasgow. Officers are currently at the scene.

"We believe this was a targeted assault and we do not believe there is a threat to the wider public.”

As previously reported by Glasgow Live , five police cars, an ambulance and paramedic were called to the scene.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a man covered in blood lying on the street.

The victim was rushed to hospital while investigators carry out enquiries.
