Argos issues response over when it will reopen all UK stores

Last month, catalogue retail giant Argos took the decision to close all of its standalone stores in the UK.

Several stores which are inside Sainsbury's supermarkets have remained open for click and collect services, but customers have been left frustrated after being forced to queue alongside grocery shoppers - sometimes for long periods of time.

That said, following on from Boris Johnson's announcement that non-essential shops can reopen on June 15, many people have been asking when Argos will reopen its stores.

Responding to one Twitter user who asked when stores will fully reopen in the UK, Argos' official account said: "Hi there, we don't have a specific date just yet. We're just following government guidelines - Nick."

The response was tweeted on May 26 - following on from Boris Johnson's announcement that all non-essential retailers can reopen on June 15, so we will have to wait and see if the catalogue store will be part of those who reopen.

Manchester Evening News has contacted Argos for clarification on when stores will reopen and how they will operate, but the retailer is yet to comment.
