Argos is selling Philips Hue lightbulbs for £10 each - under one condition

While certainly not an essential, would anything make you feel like a millionaire more than asking (an inanimate) someone to turn on your lights for you as you return home?

Thankfully, it seems we may not need to be a millionaire after all, with Argos slashing the price of one of its Philips Hue eight piece strong bundles by a third.

You can now get an eight pack of Philips Hue white GU10 light bulbs for £79.99, rather than their usual £119.84 price tag - that's 33% cheaper than normal.

While still not budget, £10 per light bulb is a lot more affordable than normal, considering that fact that if you were to buy two of the bulbs elsewhere, they'd set you back £27.49 at John Lewis , Amazon and Argos for a two-pack.

Keen bargain hunters on discount forum hotukdeals originally spotted the price cut, which has been met with a lot of praise from excited commenters.

As one helpful user pointed out, these bulbs are not to be confused with the Philips Hue Ambience bulbs, which are double the price but you can change the coolness or warmth of them however you wish.

These bulbs on the other hand are fixed warmth, but still dimmable.

You can get free Nintendo Switch online for a year - as long as you have Amazon Prime

As well as the luxury of not turning on the lights yourself, the big benefit of Philips Hue bulbs are that you can set the lights to come on at a pre-set time, so the lights are on when you arrive home, as well as the ability to set different rooms to light up at different times.

if you're constantly wondering whether you've left the lights on downstairs as you lie in bed, you can also set them to turn off gradually in the night, or just ask Alexa to turn them off from the warm comfort of your bed.
