Argos Ireland urgently recalling baby chair over safety fears

Argos Ireland has warned parents to immediately stop using one of its baby chairs due to a potential safety issue.

The retail giant is recalling the Cuggl Mushroom High Chair due to fears it may topple over if a baby leans to one side.

Argos says this may result in injury to the child and damage to the chair.

A statement said: "We want to bring your attention to a potential safety issue with the Cuggl Mushroom High Chair, catalogue number 7094143.

"Testing has shown that if a child leans sideways in the high chair there is a risk that the chair could topple over, injuring the child and damaging the high chair."

Consumers are being asked to return the product to an Argos store where they will be given a full refund of €37.99.

The company has apologised over the issue. Concerned customers can contact its Republic of Ireland helpline on 1800 946744.
