Argentinian chef in town

From Sept 5 until 16, the World international restaurant of Centara Grand at CentralWorld presents an 11-day Argentinian-themed buffet with guest Chef Rodrigo Gonzalez from Argentina's capital city Buenos Aires.

Having worked in first-class restaurants in his homeland, as well as five-star hotels in Europe, Chef Gonzalez promises to bring his expertise on South American cuisine, particularly his knowledge of sourcing only the finest, freshest farm-to-table ingredients, to Bangkok.

The World's buffet spread will be completely transformed into an Argentine culinary paradise, with a heavy focus on small tapas-style sharing dishes, as well as meat and steak prepared with imported prime cuts from Argentina.

There's a large selection of cooked-to-order asado, carvery meat and cold cuts to be selected. Highlights include sliced beef tenderloin, rib-eye, sirloin steak, sliced rack of lamb on the bone, mixed brochette (beef, lamb and chicken), prawn brochettes with chilli and lemon sauce, and different varieties of fish.

Options for main entrées range from slow-cooked flank steak with mashed potato, xocoatl and red-wine sauce; handpicked scallops and pancetta sous vide with roasted onion puree and coriander oil; citric risotto with kale torreja, Atlantic fish and caramelised pumpkin seeds; and Black Angus burger with salad, herb mayo, guacamole and fried potatoes.

Prices are 850 baht per person for lunch (food only), and 1,690 baht per person for dinner with free-flow beverage.
